A quiet presence, held close in everyday moments.
This sukiya pouch is crafted exclusively with newly woven Nishijin textile,
featuring the pattern known as Stone Mosaic.
The design recalls carefully placed stone paths,
where order and subtle irregularity coexist in calm balance.
As light shifts across the surface,
depth and gentle shadow quietly emerge.
Without asserting itself,
the pattern leaves a soft rhythm and lingering calm at the hand.
Each piece is handmade in our Osaka workshop,
within an environment cultivated over 42 years,
while carefully imagining the time it will spend in daily use.
What Is a Sukiya Pouch
The sukiya pouch originated in the world of Japanese tea culture
as a small, portable textile pouch.
Its thin, lightweight, foldable form
was shaped by the idea of quietly organizing only what is necessary.
Today, it functions as a flat pouch for everyday essentials
such as small personal items, cards, cosmetics, keys, and receipts,
naturally blending into contemporary wardrobes.
Rooted in the philosophy of modest order cultivated through tea culture,
the sukiya pouch quietly carries this sensibility
into modern life.
As a Wearable Craft Object
The Stone Mosaic sukiya pouch
is not intended to become the focal point of an outfit.
Instead, it brings balance to the whole,
reflecting the wearer’s sense of beauty with restraint.
As a wearable craft object,
its relationship with the user deepens over time,
gradually settling into the hand.
